Hoofprints CIC is a community interest company that provides a unique form of therapy combining the power of horses with professional mental health support. Specializing in equine-assisted therapy, Hoofprints offers an innovative approach to healing, helping individuals work through emotional, psychological, and behavioural challenges in a safe and supportive environment.
At Hoofprints, horses play a vital role in therapy, acting as mirrors to human behaviour and emotions. Through carefully designed sessions, individuals are guided by trained facilitators to interact with horses in ways that promote self-awareness, confidence, and emotional regulation. The bond formed between the horse and the client can help address a wide variety of mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and stress.
The non-verbal communication required in equine-assisted therapy helps participants develop skills in emotional regulation, problem-solving, and trust. Horses, with their highly attuned sense of empathy, provide immediate feedback, which can be transformative in the therapeutic process. Clients are encouraged to engage in activities such as grooming, leading, and riding, each of which offers unique benefits. The goal is not just to address emotional difficulties but to foster a sense of empowerment, resilience, and growth.
Hoofprints CIC serves people of all ages and backgrounds, from children and adults to those in need of recovery or facing challenges such as autism, PTSD, or relationship difficulties. The tranquil and natural setting of the centre enhances the therapeutic experience, offering a peaceful and restorative environment away from the stresses of daily life.
The work at Hoofprints is grounded in a holistic approach to well-being, focusing not only on mental health but also on building a deep connection with nature and animals. Through these enriching experiences, Hoofprints strives to create lasting change and help individuals regain their strength and confidence, one hoofbeat at a time.
